Mutual Aid to Peekskill
March 23
Yesterday afternoon Peekskill FD transmitted a “10-75” working fire. Crews had heavy smoke on the fifth floor of an apartment building. Our Utility 12 was requested to the scene. Car 2552 and U12 responded within minutes. About 30 mins later our bus was requested to the scene to help evacuate residents. U4 and C-2555 responded upon dispatch.

Just after 1:00pm, our department was dispatched to a reported basement fire. As some of our units were already at the firehouse, our Chiefs were on location under two minutes from dispatch and a working fire assignment was transmitted, and it was unknown immediately if there was anyone in the house. Chimney Fire

Last night at 18:23HRS we were requested for a reported chimney fire in a residential home. A neighbor reported elderly residents who needed help evacuating.
Any structural related alarms in our jurisdiction automatically gets a tower ladder from Verplanck to the scene. Montrose FD also goes on standby in their headquarters. This recently changed from our former “Tri-Village” standby.
