Activated fire alarm

Tonight at 1757 hrs Cars 2551, 2552,2553, R-26, E-160 and E-161 and Buchanan PD were dispatched to a residence on Bannon Avenue for an activated fire alarm. Upon arrival we discovered no one was at home and there was a smoke condition in the structure. Members sworn in as Fire Police

Last night at the Village meeting, 5 of our members who are currently taking the New York State Fire Police training course were sworn in by Mayor Knickerbocker as NYS Fire Policemen. Commercial Structure Fire

At 0655 this morning E-160, R-26, U-12, U-161, 2552 and 2553 were dispatched to 3199 Albany Post Rd for an automatic fire alarm. 2552 ( Asst. Chief Outhouse) met up with Buchanan PD who was on location and established command with smoke showing from the vents on the northeast side of the 1000' by 150' 3 story multi-use commercial building. 2553 ( Asst. Members Attend The NYS Fire Academy

From January 20-22, 2017 members of the Buchanan Engine Company attended the Ice/Cold Water Rescue- Technician level class at the New York State Fire Academy located in Montour Falls, NY in Schuyler County. Members spent over 10 hours with hands on experience in Ice Rescue and over 6 hours in a classroom portion. This is the first time in the department we have qualified Ice/Cold Water Rescue Techs. ...
