On November 11, 2024, our department answered a request from the NYS Office of Fire Prevention & Control under the New York State Fire Mutual Aid Plan to send an engine with manpower to the Village of Greenwood Lake in Orange County to assist in their large brushfire.

For over twelve hours, Buchanan units worked alongside units from Orange, Rockland, Greene, Albany, and Oneida counties, as well as departments from New Jersey. This will likely be Engine 160's last fire with us after 33 years of service, as Engine 162 will be delivered next month.
