This morning, the Buchanan Engine Company hosted a training class on fire behavior from the outside, in conjunction with the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. The session was attended by Buchanan members as well as personnel from neighboring departments.
The training demonstrated fire behavior and building construction. Participants learned how modern furniture and household contents can pose safety risks for both firefighters and residents. The class also covered methods for firefighters to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
